RENOVORail Industries has been formed to build wagons at a former Pennsylvania Railroad workshop in Renova, Pennsylvania.

The company will take over one of the few remaining buildings in the complex, which was built in the 1890s to service locomotives and rolling stock. RenovoRail Industries plans to produce high-sided gondolas and container wagons for 20ft and 40ft boxes at the plant, and another potential project identified is increasing the capacity of existing coal wagons.

The $5m enterprise is being aided by Clinton County Economic Partnership, which owns the land and is leasing it to Renovo Rail Industries as part of a job creation programme. Renovo Rail Industries will be managed under contract by local wagon brokering firm P&K Rail. n
