POLAND’s Institute for Railway Development has unveiled proposals for a three-line suburban network in the capital, using PKP’s cross-city corridor between the stations at Warszawa Zachodnia (west) and Warszawa Wschodnia (east).

Line A would run from Pruszków to Falenica, Line B from Purszków to Sulejówek and Line C from Okecie Airport to Torúnska. A fleet of 40 three or four-car EMUs is envisaged, together with the construction of 14 new stations. Services would be operated by a separate company or possibly by a PKP subsidiary.
