UK: Civil engineering company Bridgeway Consulting has acquired a 50% stake in unmanned aerial vehicle company AM-UAS, which has been renamed Bridgeway Aerial Ltd.

Nottingham-based Bridgeway Aerial undertakes high-resolution aerial inspections, aerial LiDAR capture, 3D modelling and photogrammetry on and around Network Rail infrastructure. This data is combined with ground control points and more traditional capture methods for specialist analysis.

Bridgeway Aerial said combining the data capture and analysis competences with those of the new shareholder means that it can now offer a fully managed service running from consultation and pre-planning though risk assessments, management and project delivery.

‘By producing measured, calibrated and auditable data, we ensure that our clients receive truly valuable results enabling key, informed decisions to be made’, said Operations Director, Richard Cooper. ‘One of the great advantages of using data from a UAV is the cost-effectiveness of repeat surveys which are becoming an increasingly common requirement.’
