POLAND: A 1·9 km metre gauge tram extension with five stops is to be built in Torun by 2013 to serve the Collegium Humanisticum and IT Technology Centre being built at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bielany district.

The project will cost 84·8m złoty, to be financed with 42·1m złoty from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship and funding from the EU Regional Operational Programme, which is providing €10m to expand the city's tram network between 2007-13. This includes the refurbishment of 18 Type 805Na trams, the introduction of 'green wave' traffic light priority on Line 1 and the installation of real-time passenger information at all 44 stops.
