GERMANY: Niedersachsen transport authority LNVG has awarded Bombardier Transportation an contract to supply a further 12 Twindexx Vario double-deck intermediate coaches and two driving cars.
Scheduled to enter service on routes to Hamburg from autumn 2022, the coaches will be equipped with CCTV, wi-fi and a passenger information system.
The latest order announced on September 22 will take LNVG’s double-deck coach fleet to a total of 246 vehicles. These operate as push-pull trainsets with 37 Bombardier Traxx locomotives. The manufacturer is also responsible for maintenance.
