A US$47·4m contract for Indonesian rolling stock manufacturer PT INKA to supply four diesel multiple-units and three push-pull trainsets was signed by Philippine National Railways on May 28.

PHILIPPINES: A US$47·4m contract for Indonesian rolling stock manufacturer PT INKA to supply four diesel multiple-units and three push-pull trainsets was signed by Philippine National Railways on May 28.

Deliveries are scheduled for December 2019 and January 2020.

The vehicles will have longitudinal seats and three twin-leaf doors per side. The four-car DMUs will have a capacity 1 090 passengers, and the five-car push-pull sets hauled by diesel-hydraulic locomotives a capacity of 1 330 passengers.

In January PNR ordered two three-car DMUs which PT INKA is to supply in the third quarter of 2019 for use on Manila suburban services between Tutuban and Alabang.
