CANADA: Luxury tourist train operator Rocky Mountaineer has awarded Stadler a contract to supply 10 new double-deck dome cars from 2018.

‘We are constantly looking for ways to improve our guest experience which is the core of our business’, said Rocky Mountaineer President Steve Sammut on May 11. ‘The care and attention that has gone into every detail of this car build is remarkable’, he added. ‘Stadler is a leader in railcar engineering, and working with them allows us to reinvent our most luxurious class of service from the ground up.’

Rocky Mountaineer operates on four routes in western Canada, and has carried more than 1·7 million passengers since 1990. Last year Canarail was appointed as prime contractor for the refurbishment of its existing fleet.
