A contract for TMH's Bryansk plant to supply 23 diesel locomotives to Cuba was signed on January 24.

CUBA: A contract for Bryansk Machine Building Works to supply of 23 diesel locomotives to Cuba was signed by Transmashholding and importer Tradex on January 24. Delivery to Habana is planned in 45 months.

The Type LDE-2500 design will be adapted to cope with the humid conditions in Cuba.

‘A lot of work has been done and we are sincerely glad to sign an important contract, part of the comprehensive programme for the renewal and development of Cuba’s railway infrastructure’, said Tradex CEO Jose Antonio Garcia. ‘We expect that the supply of Transmashholding equipment will give a new impetus to the economic development of Cuba.’
