TURKMENISTAN: National railway Demirýollary’s CKD9A passenger and CKD9C freight locomotives are being overhauled in China by manufacturer CRRC Ziyang. This includes work on the bogies, diesel engines and electrical systems, and the installation of a new generation of intelligent control and safety monitoring systems.
CRRC Ziyang is also providing training courses for railway staff and has developed technical manuals to establish a servicing system for the fleet.
- President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Akmammedov Mammet Velmammedovich as Minister of Railway Transport on July 11, when the Ministry of Transport & Communications was replaced with three separate ministries covering Railway Transport, Communications and Road Transport.
