Miira coupler

EUROPE: Swedish coupler, ganngway and data transmission product supplier Dellner has signed an agreement to acquire Spanish train builder CAF’s Miira couplers business.

The transaction announced on January 22 covers Miira’s full product portfolio and order backlog, and includes a long-term agreement for Dellner Couplers to supply CAF with couplers and aftermarket services.

Dellner said the acquisition would secure its continued growth in the couplers market, where it has more than 80 years of experience. ‘The acquisition of Miira Couplers further improves our product portfolio and will enhance our reputation as a global leader in the rolling stock market serving all car builders’, said Dellner CEO David Pagels. ‘The long term relationship with CAF also lays the foundation for close co-operation on innovative product and service offerings.’

Dellner was acquired by investor EQT in 2019. ‘Under EQT’s strong ownership, we are confident that quality and prompt delivery will remain our number one focus along with our relationship with the car builders and operators in all regions’, said Pagels. ’This strategic investment in the expansion of our existing product portfolio complements our plans to aggressively grow in new product areas like freight couplers, and to ensure that initiatives like digitalisation get our full attention during the coming years.’
