RUSSIA: Russian Railways subsidiary Federal Freight Co and Knorr-Bremse have established the Knorr-Bremse 1520 joint venture to manufacture rolling stock braking products for the CIS market.
Manufacturing will initially be undertaken at Knorr-Bremse's Voronezh plant, until the completion of a €26m factory at Tver during 2014.
The company is planning to introduce further products customised for the 1520 market, including control valves, disc brakes and oil-free compressors suitable for operation in temperatures as low as -60°C.
