INTERNATIONAL: Toronto-based technology collective Modaxo Inc has acquired driver advisory systems developer TTG Transportation Technology to expand its presence in the rail market.

Based in Sydney, Australia, and Stirling in the UK, TTG has developed and supplied stand-alone and connected DAS since 2007. It now has more than 8 000 fixed and portable onboard units operating on four continents, ranging from heavy haul freight locomotives to commuter EMUs and high speed trains.

TTG’s products will become part of Modaxo’s Rail Solutions portfolio, which is marketed through subsidiaries such as Signature Rail, Trapeze Group and Binary Systems.

‘Modaxo is an ideal cultural and technological fit for TTG, as both groups are passionate about the important role technology plays in helping to keep rail operations moving safely and efficiently’, said TTG founder and owner Dale Coleman on February 3. ‘Joining a large, stable, and successful global organisation provides us with new opportunities and the ability to further develop our people and our rail technology products.’

‘We are pleased to expand our rail offering through TTG’, added Modaxo CEO Bill Delaney. ‘Together with our other businesses serving the rail sector, we have a tremendous opportunity to collaborate and build a bright future for rail travel and sustainable mobility across the globe.’
