INTERNATIONAL: Vossloh has signed an agreement enabling it to make worldwide use of Athena Industrial’s Advanced Rail Condition Detection technology.
Vossloh will integrate the patented ARCD system for the autonomous detection of broken rails and train presence in areas without traditional signalling into its Connect digital platform for infrastructure asset management.
‘The ARCD system is especially designed for areas that do not have signals or train control, so called dark territory’, said Eiro Issakidis-Brown, Head of Strategy at Athena Industrial, on November 20. ‘With Vossloh Connect, we can reach out further and give more railway operators access to this tool for enhanced rail safety.’
Pierre-Henri Bougeant, Head of Digitalisation at Vossloh, said ‘adding ARCD to our Vossloh Connect ecosystem is a natural step in delivering smarter, safer, and more predictive rail infrastructure solutions to our customers globally.’
