The first of the new Stadler trams for Croydon Tramlink is delivered to Therapia Lane depot.

UK: The Tramlink light rail network in south London has begun taking delivery of six Stadler Rail Variotrams which Transport for London ordered in August 2011 at cost of £16∙3m.

The first of the 32 m long five-section 100% low-floor air-conditioned trams underwent trial running in the German city of Chemnitz during December.

The new cars will enter service later this year, operating alongside the existing fleet of 24 Bombardier CR4000 cars.
