FRANCE: Lyon transport authority Sytral has ordered seven additional Citadis trams from Alstom. The order announced on November 24 is an option on a €33m contract signed in 2011 for 10 trams, and is worth €20m.

The 100% low-floor trams will be the same as those already in operation on Route T3. They will be 43 m long with capacity for 400 passengers, and will be equipped with air-conditioning and CCTV.

Assembly will take place at Alstom’s La Rochelle plant, with motors from Ornans, bogies from Le Creusot, traction equipment from Tarbes, electronics from Villeurbanne and design work carried out at Saint-Ouen.
