INDIA: Digital mapping company MapmyIndia is to integrate Delhi Metro Rail Corp’s API within its Mappls app. The integration will offer users direct access to detailed information on nearby stations, routes, fares, train frequencies and travel times.
The Mappls app, which has more than 35 million users, will also help people locate nearby government services, receive optimised routes with estimated travel times and report real-time civic and traffic issues such as congestion, accidents, parking challenges or waterlogging.
MapmyIndia Chairman Rakesh Verma said ‘soon the DMRC data will get integrated into the multimodal transport feature of the Mappls app, making travel across the Delhi National Capital Region faster, smarter and seamless’.
A similar agreement with Indian Railways is planned.
