BULGARIA: Sofia tram operator Stolichen Elektrotransport has named Pesa as preferred bidder to supply 20 low-floor trams.
The deal is worth €50m, including €16·8m for spare parts and diagnostic equipment. The contract is expected to be signed in April and deliveries are planned for 2014.
The five-section Swing trams will be 2 300 mm wide and will run on the 1 009 mm gauge parts of the network.
