GERMANY: Zedas says the addition of AI-powered staff scheduling to its Zedas Cargo logistics software had ‘drastically’ reduced planning effort and ‘significantly’ improved resource utilisation.

The feature was developed in co-operation with Hector Rail Germany. It creates ready-to-use personnel schedules automatically taking into account qualifications, rest periods and absences, aiming to minimise travel from home or hotel to the place of work and balance weekly working hours to lower overtime costs.

’What previously took up to 1·5 days of planning time is now completed in just a few minutes by our AI optimiser. Thanks to intelligent planning, duty travels are minimised, productivity is increased and overtime costs are reduced’, said Senior Sales Manager Chris Richter.
