
INTERNATIONAL: Siemens Mobility subsidiary Hacon has begun rolling out the latest generation of its HAFAS journey planning app.
HAFAS NextGen is designed to be faster and easier to use, combining trip planning, ticket booking and real-time travel assistance in one app and using a passenger’s preferred combination of transport options. A Live Navigation function supports travellers throughout their journey, reminding them to set off and when to get off, and suggesting alternative routes if the timetable changes.
‘Journey planning is 1·5 times faster and ticket booking is 3·5 times faster than before’, said Martin Schulze Südhoff, Head of the MaaS segment at Siemens Mobility Software.
Operators can benefit from customisable branding and preconfigured product suites that can be adapted to specific requirements, from travel information to full Mobility-as-a-Service. All functions are designed to comply with European Web Content accessibility Guidelines 2.2 AA.
