POLAND: The Lubuskie voivodship has awarded Poznań-based manufacturer FPS H Cegielski a 245m złoty contract for the supply of six three-car Plus electric multiple-units.
Announced on May 16, the supplier says that this is the first order it has received for EMUs.
The trains will be 82 m long and have a maximum speed of 160 km/h. They are to have 180 seats, and equipped with wi-fi, CCTV cameras, dynamic passenger information systems and accessible toilets.
A co-financing package of 127m złoty for the order is coming from the European Union’s European Funds for Lubuskie 2021-27 programme. The vehicles are due to be delivered by December 2029.

‘In FPS, nearly 90% of components come from Polish industry — this is proof of the strength of regional supply chains’, commented Robert Kropiwnicki, Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets, when the order was confirmed. ‘I am glad that modern Polish EMUs will carry passengers, and investments in rolling stock will make up for many years of neglect.’
FPS has previously delivered two Plus electro-diesel bi-mode multiple-units for Lubuskie, the first of which entered service last September.
