TUBE Lines has erected a temporary workshop at Stratford Market depot on London Underground's Jubilee Line to enable trains to receive train control equipment modifications as part of the resignalling of the route.

The 1 960 m2 temporary workshop provides a dedicated facility to fit the additional equipment to each trainset efficiently without compromising Tube Lines' normal operating and maintenance pattern for the line. Supplied by Spaciotempo, the building was erected in less than three weeks and is formed of a heavy-duty extruded aluminium section.

It has been fitted out with overhead lighting, a compressed air system for use with power tools and 28 lifting jacks. Trains are moved into the workshop via an overhead DC supply.
