INIT: Making public transport more attractive for passengers and more efficient for operators is the aim of the software developed by INIT, which will be demonstrating its latest innovations at InnoTrans 2014.

The DEPARTURESlive iPhone application displays the nearest light rail or bus stops and departure times, or users can select from a list, map view or bookmarks. An augmented reality feature uses the iPhone’s camera to give passengers the ability to discover which stops are closest to them, as well as the distance to each of the next stops. Also included is a pedestrian navigation feature that guides passengers directly to the stop with a single touch.

The Android-based MOBILEmodi provides operators with an overview of current traffic, which can be helpful when managing major events or severe traffic disruptions, while the MOBILE-ECO2 platform integrates various vehicle monitoring systems to facilitate efficient and proactive maintenance planning.
