CZECH REPUBLIC: Track supplier DT Výhybkárna a Strojírna has produced two 600 mm gauge turnouts for a project to provide a cross-platform interchange between the national rail network and a heritage line at Zastávka u Brna station.
‘This type of turnout is no longer in standard production’, said Sales Director Dušan Kadlec. ‘In the past, we manufactured dozens of narrow-gauge turnouts annually for mining and agricultural railways, but as that segment declined, only a few units are produced each year. However, we still have the expertise, and thanks to our in-house design capacities, we can develop and produce any custom product based on specific location and customer requirements.
’Our engineers measured the site, designed the geometry of the two new switches, manufactured them, and delivered them. We continue to provide technical consultation as needed.’
