GERMANY: Czech turnout manufacturer DT Výhybkárna a Strojírna has produced what it says is ‘technically unique’ scissors crossover for Ruhrbahn, mounted on Sekisui synthetic sleepers.
The assembly has a total length of 123 m including the crossover, expansion joints and connecting track panels. It is to be installed at the Heissen Kirche stop in Mulheim near Essen, replacing life-expired trackwork at the approach to the underground station on light rail Line U18.
‘This was a technically very demanding project in which extraordinary emphasis was placed during acceptance on geometric accuracy, weld quality and surface finishing’, said Dušan Kadlec, Commercial Director of DTVS.
’All measured parameters met the prescribed tolerances, and the demanding customer appreciated both the technical workmanship and DTVS’s professionalism and ability to respond quickly to complex requirements.’
