CHRSA training workers with hard hats

USA: The seventh intake has completed the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s free 12-week pre-apprenticeship programme, which provides hands-on construction industry training for military leavers, at-risk young adults, minority and low-income populations in the Central Valley.

The Central Valley Training Centre has been developed by CHSRA in partnership with the Fresno, Madera, Kings & Tulare Counties Building & Construction Trades Council, Fresno Economic Development Corp, Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission and the City of Selma.

The centre also assists with job placement, including co-ordination with the high speed project and its contractors.
